Become an Advocate

Attention all parents, grandparents and guardians: Children need the adults in their lives to stand up, be heard and make a difference on their behalf. YOU are your child’s first and best advocate!

There is a real and urgent shortage of affordable, high-quality child care available in Weld County. Families desperately need this type of child care because studies have shown that children who attend high-quality early childhood programs are generally healthier and perform better in school. They are also less likely to smoke, abuse alcohol and illegal drugs, engage in high-risk behavior and be arrested or incarcerated. Unfortunately, this type of child care can be expensive and inaccessible to some families. That’s why we need YOU to help advocate for the availability of affordable, high-quality child care for all families.

Telling your personal story is the most meaningful thing you can do to influence our lawmakers and improve Colorado and Weld County’s child care system. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, guardian, child care provider or even a business owner with employees who need high-quality child care, your real-life story demonstrates the importance of this crucial issue. If you would like to contact us to tell us about your struggle finding high-quality child care, you can reach us at (970) 400-6594 or childcareprovider@weldgov.com.

We also urge you to contact your elected officials and tell them your story as well:
